A WIP and FO

Here is my WIP for a very special aunt hey Gerrie..........it took me a while to find a pattern that I liked........I tend to favor lots of texture and since she told me her fav color was red I wanted something that would enhance the color...........my camera make the color lighter than it is..........its a darker red...........the yarn is TLC heather the first pic is the back the second pic is the front.........
The hook is a size j...........having been working on it for about a week.....thank goddness her b-day is in Dec..........
now here is the FO a very simple two colored intarsia hat.........I really like the scroll look.......the hat did not come out as snug as I wanted due to the k2 p2 not being done on smaller needles...........but what the heck I just get to do it again and make it better............

It's been awhile

Hi everyone it's been awhile since I have posted..........I have been getting into my crochet world.........Since the last time I posted I have purchased a few different kinds of yarn to get the feel of things....I bought a skein of pink, green, brown red heart super saver, was given 4 skeins of red heart classic........I made a afghan for my daughter for her birthday she was so happy for about a day then the pretty lapghan was thrown to the corner of her room not bed mind you but a corner in her room well so much for holding a 8 year old's interest...........I have mixed feelings about this yarn..........great for afghans and bags but not so much wearables I think I like softer yarns...........
..........I purchased some Caron simply soft 4 skeins and 5 balls of some yum( I think thats how it spelled I threw away the lables dumb me) from big lots for a $1.00. combined the two to make a throw for my self I looooooooooove it so much it's very soft and it has some weight, I just made it a tad to small......The verdict on Caron ss I don't like it, it feels funny like it is too soft, but does have great stitch definition.......I made a hat and scarf with it........bought some Mary Maxim Mellowspun love the way it feels and stitches up....Crocheted a hat with it and will make my little ones a hat and scarf set with the navy blue.......as far as acrylic yarns go I like the mm the best........oh and I bought SS heather for a vest I saw
Well I think I'll just make the vest and see how it goes.......

Destiny's Blanket

Well here is my finished baby blanket for my friends new baby girl. I love pineapples and found this pattern and thought I would give it a try. My pic came out a little dark but you can see the pineapples. When I first started I did not like it because you could not see the pineapples but as the work progressed you could see them. I will try this pattern again with a thinner yarn

New Beginings

Hello everyone this is the first day of this experince and I wanted to share it with you all.
Here is a poem that I composed and want to share with you
Life

Life
Sun in my face
Cascading water in a solitary place
Winds and clouds flowing by

Life
Children dancing in a ring
Firefly lighting here and there
All the sounds of summer

Life
Sitting in a porch swing
Seeing faces no longer seen
Thanking God for a life well spent
